Dr. Juliette Sterkens, a native of the Netherlands, moved to Wisconsin after her marriage. Originally educated as a speech pathologist and hearing specialist she then focused her studies on audiology at UW-Oshkosh. She owns Fox Valley Hearing Center with audiologist/friend Doreen Jensen and they have worked tirelessly and passionately to improve the lives of their hard of hearing patients and families in the Fox Valley.
Late in 2008 Dr. Sterkens formed Fox Valley Hearing Loop, LLC with her husband LeRoy Max Maxfield http://www.foxvalleyhearingloop.com to bring hearing loop technology to the area. While looping the Fox Valley is her immediate goal, her dream is to Loop Wisconsin by reaching out to hearing aid users, audiologists and hearing instrument specialists, churches, audio companies and public venues thereby making Wisconsin a better place to live for those who use hearing aids.
(Knowing that this most probably will include her someday as her dad, Frans Sterkens, was quite hard of hearing, her mother, Philly, is a successful hearing aid user and her grandparents should have used them!)
Dr Sterkens is an avid tandem biker with her husband, likes to travel, enjoys cooking and eating (who doesn't?) and working in her yard.
