Barbara A. Prestano, Au.D.

Dr. Prestano is a licensed Audiologist and Hearing Instrument Specialist in the state of New York and is certified by the American Board of Audiology. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of audiology and an approved instructor for the New York State Hearing Aid Licensure Board.

In addition to being the Director of audiology for Peconic ENT in Aquebogue, Southampton, Greenport and East Hampton in New York, she is also an Adjunct Professor in the Speech and Hearing Sciences Department for undergraduate program at St. Joseph's College and for the graduate program for Adelphi University. Additionally, she teaches graduate classes for Arizona School of Health Sciences in Mesa, AZ for their on-line internet based doctoral program in Audiology.

Dr. Prestano has been helping the hearing impaired for more than 18 years. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Pathology from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY in 1986. She went on to receive her Master of Science Degree from Central Institute for the Deaf, a division of Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri in 1991. She also received her clinical doctorate, the Au.D. in Audiology at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Mesa, AZ, a division of Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2003. She has been an educator for many years, providing training and seminars in hearing and hearing loss. She is an advocate for the hearing impaired, focusing on patient education and satisfaction.
