Mr. Kirkwood has been editor of The Hearing Journal since November 1990. A career journalist, he previously was editor and publisher of weekly newspapers in the New York City suburbs and an occasional contributor to The New York Times.  Since joining the hearing industry, he has been active in the Hearing Industries Association, serving on its board and its Marketing Committee.  In 2006, to his astonishment and the academy's subsequent regret, he received a President's Award from the American Academy of Audiology.  A graduate of Cornell University, he holds a master's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. When he's not blogging, Mr. Kirkwood enjoys traveling the world with his wife, Annie, or hanging out in Mid-Coast Maine with Annie and Isaac, their puli.
