Laurel A. Christensen, Ph.D.Dr. Christensen has spent 20 years in the Audiology profession in a variety of settings. Her career started as a clinical audiologist after receiving her master's degree in Audiology from Indiana University. While working clinically, she pursued her Ph.D. also at Indiana University. She was on the faculty at Louisiana State University Medical Center and Kresge Hearing Research Laboratory for seven years primarily teaching and doing research on hearing aids. She joined the hearing industry at Etymotic Research in Elk Grove Village, IL after deciding she wanted to be closer to product development. Today she is responsible for Research and Audiology Development globally for GN ReSound Group, a Danish hearing aid manufacturer. In addition to her current position, she holds adjunct faculty appointments at Northwestern and Rush Universities in Chicago. She has served as an Associate Editor for two scientific research journals. Further, she is a member of the Executive Board of the American Auditory Society and a member of the Advisory Board for the Au.D. Program at Rush University. She has numerous publications and book chapters, and has presented over 150 presentations at professional meetings. When not working, Dr. Christensen spends all her time raising three children with her husband.
