Thank You Leslie Nielsen

Thanks Leslie Nielsen for being a long time BHI supporter. I am happy we took the effort to convert those old dusty Beta PSA tapes of celebrities like you with hearing loss into windows compatible files for generations of people to see on our website at: http://www.betterhearing.org/about/psa.cfm. Your message of hope to people with hearing loss is the same today as it was 20 years ago.As soon as you passed within 24 hours I viewed the movie Airplane again for probably the 20th times and it made me laugh just much as when I saw it for the first time. I think you probably believe the words spoken in your 1994 movie Naked Gun 33 1/3: "Cheer up, Ed. This is not goodbye. It's just I won't ever see you again." But we will always remember how you made us laugh and we will continue to laugh when we view your immortal works.

I think it should be compulsory for every child in the UK to have a Test for Hearing. This will help reduce the amount of problems they may have later in life and prolong their hearing.

I just got done watching the Naked Gun series for probably the third time and I also laughed as hard as ever. I was not aware that Mr. Nielsen was a proponent of BHI, but I really liked his brief message. I'm looking forward to watching a few of the others you've archived there, thanks for sharing!

Mr. Neilsen will be missed, that much is for sure. I will always think of him in his role as the Captain in Forbidden Planet (funny, but not comedy). Thanks for leaving us a legacy of great laughs and fond memories. R.I.P.

Great article. I think this is such an important point. Hearing is, of course, associated with our ears and I think many people dont stop to think about the role that the brain is playing too. I was not aware that Mr. Nielsen was a proponent of BHI, but I really liked his brief message. I'm looking forward to watching a few of the others you've archived there, I am quite sure I will learn plenty of new stuff right here! Best of luck for the next! Thanks for sharing&
