BHI Launches #GiveYourHearingSomeLove Campaign for Better Hearing & Speech Month

Washington, DC, May 5, 2017—The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) is giving a shoutout to all life’s awesome sounds in recognition of Better Hearing & Speech Month in May with the launch of its social media campaign, #GiveYourHearingSomeLove. BHI is inviting everyone to join in by signing on through Twibbon and Thunderclap.

When you stop to think about it, you realize that hearing is absolutely amazing. And for Better Hearing & Speech Month, BHI wants people to do just that. Stop and think:

  • favorite song
  • late-night talks
  • giggling babies
  • frogs at night
  • crashing waves
  • leaves in the breeze
  • sizzling bacon
  • the crack of a baseball on a wooden bat
  • wind chimes
  • the swish of skis and snowboards on a brisk winter afternoon

Life is chock-full of so many remarkable sounds to enjoy. And our hearing is an incredible sense. Let’s never underrate it.

Instead, #GiveYourHearingSomeLove. Protect it, check it, and appropriately address hearing loss.

BHI tries to make it easy for people to determine if they need a comprehensive hearing test by a hearing healthcare professional by offering a free, confidential online hearing check at BetterHearing.org. The BHI Hearing Check walks you through a series of simple questions in just a few quick minutes.

BHI also provides lots of information on its website where people can learn more about how addressing hearing loss is tied to improved quality of life. And don’t miss the information posted in the What’s New? news section. There’s a lot there on research in recent years that has found ties between unaddressed hearing loss and other health concerns, including depression, memory, and dementia.
